We're Back!!!

After a month of rest, preparation, and renewed focus I am back!

And after a summer of the same for the church as a whole we are back as well with some pretty awesome stuff to look forward to over the next number of months.

This post is a simple one… to let you know what is going on at CRC in the Fall and when things start. We’ll get to various topics, book reviews, and the like in the coming weeks.

We have to start with our first weekend's festivities to kickoff our church calendar.

Baptism & Fall Kickoff BBQ, Saturday, September 6 @ 5 pm, at Kleefeld Park.

Baptism will take place at 5 pm, followed by a BBQ chicken supper.

All food is provided. Bring lawn chairs.

Now let’s move through a typical week at CRC.

Sunday School starts for all ages on September 7. Common opening starts at 9:30 am and Sunday School runs from 9:45 am to 10:15 am.

Our sermon series begins on September 7 as well and we will dive into the Book of Judges until the end of January. Taking a break for Christmas season… since Judges isn’t exactly a joyous, holiday season type of book.

On alternate Tuesdays we restart our men’s and women’s studies.

The women will start on September 9 @ 7 pm and will be doing the inductive study Saved: A Study of the Book of Acts by Nancy Guthrie.

The men will start on September 16 @ 7 pm and will be reading and discussing A Heart Aflame for God: A Reformed Approach to Spiritual Formation by Matthew Bingham

On Thursday, September 11 @ 7 pm, the youth (Grades 7-12) will kick things off at and continue to meet every other Thursday.

That’s the weekly stuff… Now for some key events coming up in the Fall.

The ladies will be having a retreat on October 17 & 18, at Neufeld Garage in Randolph.

The men, well we don’t retreat, we shoot stuff and eat meat for one evening as a kick-off. Yes, Skeets and Meats is back. September 27 @ 5 pm. Watch the men’s chat and the bulletin for details. (NOTE: Due to the nature of the event we would like to limit attendance to CRC men only)

A 6-week Saturday morning class on Interpreting the Bible awaits a firm start date -- look for it in October more than likely. Check for details in future bulletins.

Communion and potluck will take place on September 21. It will be our last outdoor hotdog lunch of the year. Watch the bulletin for details as to what to bring.

Child dedication is on Sunday September 28.
